Notes: HABITAT chaparral on sea cliffs in small west-facing cove; SUBSTRATE mossy outcrop in chaparral gully; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES endolithic, substrate HCl- crumbly rotten sandstone/siltstone, apothecia flat to undulate, disk black with abundant white pruina reddish when wet, rims narrow minutely crenulate concolorous pruinose, epihymenium orange-brown, exciple carbonizezd black-brown opaque, hypothecium opaque but white under 30x; SPORES many, hyaline, smooth, ellipsoid, 5-6 × 2.5 µm.

spores too broad and ellipsoid for S. privigna, also too pruinose
