HABITAT chaparral on sea cliffs in small west-facing cove; SUBSTRATE mossy outcrop in chaparral gully; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES endolithic, K- C- KC- UV- 350nm, rim with white edge but otherwise grayish and corticate, disk pale brownish-greenish-grayish epruinose small, cortex very thick and well-developed up to 80 µm, algal layer thin but continuous, edge of rim and algal layer and epihymenium with some POL+ granules not clearing in K; SPORES Lecanora-like, 11-13 × 6-7 µm.
