HABITAT sage community on top of sheer cliffs; SUBSTRATE dead twig of Cupressus macrocarpa; ASPECT partly sunny; NOTES thin brown verruculose thallus, abundant black immersed pycnidia, black disk apothecia with raised black rim, epihymenium dark brown, exciple dark brown fading to brown in interior, hypothecium dark brown, K- C- KC- UV- 350nmm, not inspersed, conidia ~12-13 × 1 µm filiform; SPORES 8 per ascus, septate, brown/gray, smooth, even walls, 13-14 × 6-7 µm.
