These are pretty common around here in mixed spruce, subalpine fir, lodgepole pine forests, often in areas with little herbaceous vegetation on the ground.

Looks pretty similar to the coastal entity that goes by that name (which should, I assume, be elevated from variety to species status). This obs represents the current easternmost mapped occurrence of this species on M.O.
