some things are universal: big boletes have prior occupants! still a thrill to find, though.

does anyone know if Russian boletes were included in the big Porcini DNA paper?

It’s an old forest mostly of native birch trees, part of the first national park of Russia (today was only the first time I visited it). I find porcini only with native birch here.

those reddish caps remind me of our Colorado form in the USA.

Were they growing in a park in Moscow? Native or planted trees?
