But looking at other mushrooms I posted from this foray, I surmise the area is likely an oak/hickory dominated mainly hardwood forest.

The spores that we can see in side view seem to be broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid. This is probably one of the things that were called sp-17. The material has been received and accessioned in the herbarium.
