Recognized by sight: Tall delicate Amanita with no ring; cap with striate margin. Note gray color of universal veil material near the base of the stipe

Recognized by sight: graying friable volva patches on lower stipe plus cap color and habit. Looks like depauperate material (stipe very thin proportionally).

Haven’t looked at the name A. borealisorora before. Based on the other images on MO and Amanitaceae.org, I’m reluctant to apply that name. I probably saw 20 of these delicate Vaginatae and they all had ‘depauperate’ stipes like this one. Let me know if you’re interested in getting a collection of this.
