Notes: HABITAT shady oak forest high on north slope; SUBSTRATE Quercus chrysolepis bark; ASPECT mostly shaded; NOTES bumpy greenish-grayish crust with thin white margin, K+y fairly strong C- KC- UV- 350nm, apothecia initially almost flush with thallus, disk red-brown dark epruinose, margin thick bumpy shiny concolorous with thallus, epihymenium pale brown POL-, hymenium hyaline POL- not inspersed, amphithecium with abundant large POL+ crystals persistent in K, thin cortex; SPORES 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth, simple, ~12-13 × 6-7 µm.
