HABITAT shady oak forest high on north slope; SUBSTRATE Quercus chrysolepis bark; ASPECT mostly shaded; NOTES bumpy greenish-grayish crust with thin white margin, K+y fairly strong C- KC- P+y pale UV- 350nm, apothecia initially sessile, disk paler tan to brownish epruinose, margin thick to almost excluded bumpy shiny concolorous with thallus, epihymenium brown with abundant fine POL+ granules clearing in K and K+y, hymenium hyaline inspersed with POL+ granules in upper third to half clearing in K, amphithecium with both large POL+ crystals and abundant fine POL+ crystals clearing in K, cortex thin and uniform 20-25 µm thick; SPORES 8 per ascus, simple, hyaline, smooth, ellipsoid, 12-15 × 6-7 µm.
