Notes: HABITAT shady oak forest by small opening with chaparral on north slope; SUBSTRATE granitic boulder by trail; ASPECT shaded; NOTES crust pale gray thick contiguous areolate, K-, apothecia round to elliptical 1-3 per areole slightly raised slightly darker rim with very thin white outline, epihymenium green-brown turning brown in K, paraphyses 5-6 swollen cells, spores 8 per ascus 20-25 × 12-15 µm, conidia 18-26 µm.
