No herbarium specimen

Notes: large mushroom, cap 4-5 inches across, growing near pine tree, out of grassy area.

update 8/15 – still growing…and growing, and growing…Calvatia gigantea?

still an edible species, though, which is interesting

(no worries, i’m not planning to cook or eat it, esp. given my lack of experience)
