Looks and feels like rubber. It seems like ive seen this before idk where though. I was wondering if this is has any sort of psychoactive compound in it. Can I eat it and trip??!

I imagine that the user saw the scales and thought the cap resembled some Gymnopilus species, but this species is a polypore and Gymopilus comes from Agaricales at the highest order…I’ve never eaten the “Dryad’s saddle” before, but I hear that young fresh specimens are pretty tasty. When they are older that rubbery texture it has would probably be pretty tough and unpalatable.

No psychoactivity that I know of.

When very young, try eating it though. I have seen it once growing from a large mound of chips: aroma very fragrant and pleasant. I wanted to sample it for its culinary properties only.
