I looked at a similar collection brought in by a member of our local club. I had a difficult time convincing him that his collection was probably not Boletus rainsii, which is only known from western North America. Eva, your collection, with the bright yellow stipes, looks even more like the photo in the big bolete book.

I called the Pennsylvania collection seen in the link B. pulverulentus, but I’m beginning to wonder… What was the habitat for your collection, Eva?
