I agree. I think perhaps A. russuloides is a better match.

More persistent

than seems to be the case here. The bulb doesn’t seem prominent enough either. I may be misjudging the striations, but they seem rather deep on the young one for A. crenulata. But based on the universal veil alone this is not A. crenulata; and then all of the other features that sort of don’t fit just right.

I thought the annulus of A. crenulata was not persistent, also the striations take up about 10%-20% of the cap radius. And we both know how morphologically variable A. crenulata is.

a persistent annulus, the longer cap striations, and I was going to say cap color but I guess that could fall within the range of A. crenulata, though I have never seen them that light.
