Observation 106390: Tylopilus P. Karst.
When: 2012-08-19
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I would like help with the identification of this specimen. I suggest that it is genus Boletus. It was collected from dry, mainly White Pine woods next to a parking lot at the edge of Beebe Woods, Falmouth, MA, and was one of several specimens of the same species. The stalk is chocolate brown and does not show obvious ridges, netting or other patterning, the pore surface of the cap is tan, the dorsal surface of the cap is dry, smooth, and tan and is without scales and with only thin white netting patterning. Nothing described in my Peterson Mushroom guide matches this specimen.
Thank you for any help that in can provide with an identification as to species.
