Observation 106548: Agaricus augustus Fr.
When: 2012-08-23
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing near the base of a large elm tree, in the church’s well-kept lawn. 14 cm cap diameter, overall height 16 cm. Veil was just beginning to split and the gills were still pallid – in perfect condition. Almondy odor very distinctive. A young button just emerging nearby (not pictured) was very golden-brown overall.

På svenska (in Swedish), kungschampinjon (king mushroom or king Agaricus).

Nice to find a Fries species in Sweden, and not too far from his birthplace!
