Observation 106997: Leucopaxillus albissimus (Peck) Singer
When: 2012-08-24
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Massive fruitings of this type mnushroom routinely occur underneath planted spruce trees. Every time I stop to pick some, the mushrooms are well past prime. So the macro-characters are not all reliable. But the white mycelial mat and easily removable gill layer, as een here, support the L. albissimus proposal.
