Observation 107092: Amanita multisquamosa Peck
When: 2012-08-25
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This has the appearance of Amanita multisquamosa, based on referencing Kuo, MushroomExpert.com site. I’ve never seen this species before and apparently is less common east of the Rockies. Found in mixed oak-hickory/white pine forest type.
