Recognized by sight: It does seem likely that this material represents A. bulbosa var. citrina (which is the currently correct name for A. citrina of Europe and western Asia). It should be noted that some EUropean mycologists believe there is no taxonomic value in separating vars. bulbosa and citrina of A. bulbosa.

I had a very hard time believing that citrina can be so variable.

Was more greenish than in the photo. Smelled like what I called A. citrina, but a lot less noticeable. If it had a volva (I thought I saw some remnants) it was very fragile.

I received an opinion on Observation 105882 that the specimen there is an A. citrina which had an awful unhealthy childhood. Maybe, but I’m not sure…
