HABITAT dry hardwood forest on south-facing slopes of cove; SUBSTRATE fallen oak limb; ASPECT mostly open; NOTES half-dead specimen, between TT and clearcut, on fallen hardwood limb, among mountain laurels; THALLUS large v inconspic tiny punctate pseudocyphellate (and with brown dots near edges of many lobes), entirely smooth to minutely wrinkly below, no rhizines or cilia, black in center to white near edge below, minutely scalloped powdery soralia along margins, finely maculate (visible when wet), K+y, C-, KC-; MEDULLA K-, C+r strong fading only slightly to orange-red, KC+r strong persisting.
