HABITAT dry hardwood forest on south-facing slopes of cove; SUBSTRATE various twigs and windfall; ASPECT mostly open; NOTES many lovely and unlovely specimens from mountain laurel thickets and wind-fall and clearcut etc; THALLUS most obviously long ciliate, many apotheciate, many not apotheciate, all rather larger-lobed than #10; MEDULLA C+ fleeting pink to strong red but fading quickly to slowly.
