Was the their a noticeable volva at the base of the stem? I see this picture is from May. Is that correct?

Pallid amanitas that stain red and have a floccose stem and a striate cap margin? I can’t think of any at this hour of the night. Something is playing tricks with us here if this is an Amanita. Not sayin’ it ain’t…
