Notes:
Trashed-looking, near but not on wood, in mixed woods. Could be one of the drabber Russulas or a bolete. Didn’t get a look at the bottom.

Agaricales includes the bulk of the fleshy, mushroom-shaped fungi (not chanterelles or polypores, though) according to my references. Though the photo shows no stem, this thing had one and wasn’t a stemmed puffball either, and its shape was all wrong for chanterelle or polypore, hence Agaricales.
