Observation 107771: Ophioparma ventosa (L.) Norman
When: 2012-08-30
No herbarium specimen

Notes: on Si rock (Golden Horn Granite) , 6,200’ (1,890m)

Calling this O. ventosa as apparently O. lapponica is more northerly than Washington. Relatively recently Katherine Glew and I looked at spores of several Washington specimens. All were found to be O. ventosa.

Hope you are doing well. Hope to post some more lichens before too long.

They really are indistinguishable, aren’t they?
