Notes: Collected in predominantly Hemlock woods. Some spores are strongly dextrinoid in Melzer’s others are not. This variable and very strong dextrinoid reaction is not mentioned in any references I have. Spores are narrowly ovoid and the size is variable with a 20 spore average of 12.2 × 5.3 microns, Qm = 2.31. Careful selective focusing of the microscope reveals subtle irregular pitting of the spore surfaces.
