Notes:
Very thin, almost shelflike caps and margin. Initially though these were some form of polypore from a distance(and before I turned them over). Dark reddish brown-almost black stem, centrally located, with grayish spines. Stalk was also tough and woody. Scent-non discript. Fruiting in Sitka spruce, hemlock and Western red cedar canopy(mostly old growth). White dusting on most caps. 4 fruiting bodies within 3 foot radius.

Temp: upper 60’s, sunny.

Recognized by sight: Reminded me of S.imbricatum but without scales on cap. About 9cm around on largest specimen.
