Collection location: Hickory Run State Park, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]
Who: Dave W (Dave W)
A stand of spruce trees (Norway Spruce, I believe) producing lots of tan to yellow amanitas, with basal bulb structure varying between the mainly smooth bulb of A. crenulata and the “rolled sock” associated with some of the Pantherinae. There seemed to be intermediate forms. The ones in this obs grew a few inches apart and remind me of A. crenulata.
Dried specimen from this collection is tan… no yellow tones.
