Used references: Smith, Smith & Weber; How to Know the Non-Gilled Mushrooms, p. 251. Can only state this is promising, as no spore microscopy provided. Not splitting stellately (star-like), with thicker peridium. Spores should be 11-25 microns in diameter. Said to be “… widely distributed but not common.” Base should be barely present, sometimes just a slight thickening of the peridium near the soil interface.
