It’s worth keeping unlichenized pyrenomycetes in mind, too

Certainly, it looks peritheciate one way or another. I hardly know where to start with them even if I have a specimen and a microscope in front of me, let alone by photo!

First I wasn’t even sure it’s a lichen. But under microscope it looks like a bunch of apothecia, without thallus, sometimes forming continuous mat. Apothecia flat in some specimen, totally featurless, seemingly rim-less. Other specimen have apothecia that looks like a bunch of rasin embedded into substrate.
