On the ground in pine woods. The thumbnail shows the side view on the 7th. Next photo: top view on the 7th. Third photo is the mushroom on the 10th. Last photo is the mushroom, uprooted, on the 10th. Gills chocolate-brown and decurrent, fairly widely spaced. Orange traces might be stains from latex, or dried latex.

Recognized by sight: The brownish stuff might be a cortina clinging to the gills, with spores stuck to it, rather than stains from latex.
