Observation 110798: Mutinus ravenelii (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) E. Fisch.
When: 2012-09-20
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Taking pictures that are out of focus is something that has always come naturally to me…, esp. when I am late to work. This is the 4th fruiting I have seen from an area about 12" square of an albino form…, Dried for later inspection. The pale orange apparently comes from carotene that is thought to help attract flies due to it’s color.
