Observation 111055: Xeromphalina cornui (Quél.) J. Favre
When: 2012-09-22
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

The moss that shows in the picture is not the real habitat. These mushrooms were growing in a hollow rotting stump, deep down (~70 cm) in the hole. The moss was just all around the place.

The spores measured 6-8 × 3-3.5 microns. To support the X. cornui id, we have the red-brown KOH reaction on the cap (no picture) and yellow hairs at the stem base.
