Marasmiellus nigripes

Is an old name for Tetrapyragos nigripes, distinguished by its tetrahedron shaped spores. Also the stipe is usually a little bluer and straiter than these are. These look macroscopically closer to what I’ve seen called M. candidus but I’m not that familiar with M. candidus. Murrill is the authority for the name “Marasmiellus” and no specific epithet has been proposed. Hope that helps.

Genus name and specific name???

Since I an fairly new to this site perhaps someone can respond to a question. I posted an observation and called a fungus Marasmiellus nigripes. Now someone has commented calling this “Marasmiellus Murrill”. Does this mean they agree with the genus Marasmiellus and are not naming a specific name? Or, is this a specific name? Hate to sound so inexperienced, but I am. Maybe someone will respond so I can learn the “ropes” here. I will appreciate any help I can get. Would like to do this correctly. Thank you. Weed lady.
