Macroscopic Characteristics
Fruiting Body: sessile, centrally stipitate, club shaped, orange-ish tan, broad kidney to fan shaped
Size: 5-5.5 cm across x 3-4.5 cm long
Texture strong ,hard, rough, strongly attached to branch
Pileus: scaly pattern ,rough sponge-like front, back is soft, tan color
Stipe: small-not present, attached directly to growing surface, attached to wood bark
Pore Surface: hard, dry
Pores: hexagonal, diamond shaped, dark tan, honeycomb
tubes: about 4-5mm deep
Odor: none
Spore Print: white
other: top is folds a bit, specs form a pattern on front
Microscopic Characteristics
Basidiospores: smooth, 8.5-9 × 3 µm, cylindrical, hyaline
basidia:club-shaped 4 spores
Habitat Characteristics
Substrate: tree branch
Location: Marquette Park Gary, Indiana, USA
