Morganella vs. Lycoperdon

pyriforme remains but which genus? Kruger and Kreisel (2003) put pyriforme into Morganella. The most recent paper on Lycoperdon by Larsson and Jeppson (2007) puts it back into Lycoperdon and widens the concept of Lycoperdon by adding in a few species of Bovista and Calvatia. Currently the jury is out. the molecular data is not strong enough to really pull pyriforme out of Lycoperdon. So either can be argued so …..
