Recognized by sight: Cap color= brown, cap shape= convex, cap diameter of mature sample= 5 cm, cap texture= velvety,slightly scaly (not sticky when wet). Spore print= white, cap gills coarsely spaced and white, cap margin= entire and incurved, stalk= 11 cm long x 1.5cm diameter, gills run down stalk up to annulus ring,flesh= white and does not stain. Found growing on Birch tree trunk and on Birch roots.
