Stephen, these were not clustered and very small.
there is also no persistent veil.
the veil we have here is more fibrillose.
these were growing directly off of oak, solitary or in pairs.
the caps are squamulose with brownish/red hairs over the center.
also, junonius tends to be swollen in the middle (not always).
these have swollen bases.

i’m thinking something closer to G. subtropicus.

i’ll post micro of these for sure.

Why do you think the label G. junonius is doubtful?
