Observation 11324: Clavulinopsis laeticolor (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) R.H. Petersen

When: 2008-09-18

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

I found two of these, one on a rotting log (first five photos) with a tiny agaric (obs. 11323) and one (sixth and seventh photos) on a nearby rotting stump with a different tiny agaric (obs. 11325), near which some larger mushrooms were growing (obs. 11239) that I had previously seen on the fifteenth. Elsewhere near that stump I had also seen some of this species on the fifteenth (obs. 11240).

In the same general area, on the ground, were other mushrooms of various species, including one of the mushrooms from obs. 11317, a Cortinarius alboviolaceus near a different rotting stump a few feet away (obs. 11401), and some other, less interesting-looking mushrooms that I didn’t bother to photograph.
