Observation 113423: Laccaria Berk. & Broome

When: 2012-10-14

Collection location: East Lyme, Connecticut, USA [Click for map]

Who: Sam.Schaperow (SamSchaperow)

No specimen available

Notes:
Grows in sphagnum moss. Not far (2 meters?) from a maple tree. Can’t smell it.

Taste is a very pleasant fungal flavor. Texture very nice, too in my taste & spit. Had a cool feel to it even on a day that’s not super-cool. Probably a good amount of water w/in it.

Not going to try to spore print this tiny thing.

I thought of that, but didn’t think they got so tiny. But, seems like a reasonable possibility.
