Notes: Under some pine, possibly white but they were in a planting array, otherwise hemlock and deciduous.

I work all week and it’s a two hour drive. I usually leave unidentified Amanitas behind unless I am going to run into you :)

some conflicting signals (striate margin AND gills NOT squarely cut off). Confusing situation regarding what the volval looks like on the stipe base. (Can you get a good photo of the base of the stem?

Since this is the second example of this unusual mix of characters with a couple of weeks on MO, it would be interesting for us to take a look that this specimen if you happen to dry it for preservation.
