The Lactarius species with colorful latex…

often produce the latex in very small amounts. Gently pressing a finger against cut/broken context sometimes allows one to observe the color. L. subpurpureus has wine-red latex.

The brown gills with red aging flesh leaves me wanting more foundation for the change on my observation. My opinion… admittedly unqualified, was determined via a match with observation by sample structure and that compared to other samples already verified The easy bruising that was distinctly identical in green-blue color and pattern was spot on. If my opinion is off I would be appreciative if you could explain why yours is correct so I can learn.
