Recognized by sight: unless this was brought in from out of area, I think any of the other pinkish-staining Hygrophorus are more likely candidates, but we can’t tell anything from the photo.

You should uncheck the “Is Collection Location” box for observations seen at fairs – especially in instances where mushrooms are brought in from many areas.

This is currently the northwestern-most record of H. russula (by a longshot) in any of the U.S. states bordering the Pacific, and it would be good for it to be excluded from the distribution map without confirmation of its identity and provenance.

And two mycologists looked at this collection. It may well have come in from out of the immediate area. I don’t know. Sometimes collections have been brought in from B.C., Idaho … even California.
