Notes: They look like Crab Eyes popping out of the Moss and Grass .

It could be growing on a hypogeous Scleroderma, such as S. hypogaeum, or Elaphomyces sps. Much depends on what it was growing from.

Geoglossaceae in Helotiales, or else Cordyceps or something similar.

Pull one up. If it’s attached to a truffle, a dead bug, or something else like that it’s a Cordyceps. Otherwise it’s probably an earth tongue.
