Observation 114963: Amanita phalloides (Fr.) Link
When: 2012-10-30
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Same collection site as confirmed phalloides collection made in fall 2011…. with one small difference. The 2011 collection was made between a two needle pine and an oak, a bit closer to the oak. This collection (2012) was made a bit close to the pine. Trees are planted ornamentals along Wilkes-Barre Boulevard.

just after the 2" rainfall from the big storm. Looked like they had popped just before it moved in. Checked again after a few days and no additional fruit bodies. But it does look the species has become established in this area occupied by planted pine and oak trees. I’ll try to swing by the spot again before the snow starts flying later this week.

Probably there’s more in store of what was there before…

Based on Dave’s description, I think this was definitely a multiple case space.
