Found in Nike campus, landscaped area. Growing near ground on living shrubs the leaves of which are currant-like (Ribes?).

Recognized by sight: Only a handful of Xylarias here in Oregon, and X hypoxylon is the only one with that sort of branching. It is, however, probably a rather large species complex.

Thank you, Roo. The habitat being so different from what we normally see with X. hypoxylon, I suspected this might be a different species.
