Observation 115078: Agaricus L.
When: 2012-10-31
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I’m really bad at identifying Agaricus. This clump was found close to a Douglas-fir, but in lawn.

I cut one in half, but didn’t include the photo. Floppy disc may have been corrupted.

No staining that I remember. Smell was nice, similar to A. bisporus.

Do they stain?

Like a yellow highlighter, especially around the cap margin and stem base of the fresh buttons? Do they smell phenolic, mild, or good? They look like A. xanthodermus/californicus from here, but I think Agaricus is difficult to id from photos and little information.
