I collected this specimen. There was only one specimen found. CAP: 7-9 inches wide; dark gray-brown with red highlights; striate margin; looks beloved by slugs; cap more predated upon than any other portion. STIPE: 4.5 inches long, slightly nibbled on, solid, bruising slightly reddish where eaten on near cap. GILLS: off-white, but with abundant pink dots on gills I hope are visible in close-up.
Has an appearance close to R. albonigra; but without the blackening reaction when handled or predated on.
