When: 2012-11-03

Collection location: Ventura Park, Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

This is one of the easier mycorrhizal fungi to cultivate IMO. While I have grown it with Douglas-fir before, this obs. was found associated with Quercus palustris.

Orange somewhat transluscent flesh to the cap, with central red depressed area.
Gill and stipe pic.
Base of stipe bruises about the same color of red as the center of the cap.
