Recognized by sight: Pored undersurface (hymenium) and typical mushroom stature makes it a ‘bolete’. I’m not going to hazard a guess as to species, but will leave that to folks who know the European boletes.

Recognized by sight: typical in fall with beech. Note the hammered and pruinate surface of the pileus!
