Observation 115752: Amanita phalloides (Vaill. ex Fr.) Link

When: 2012-11-03

Collection location: Yuba City, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Phalluscybe (phonehenge)

No specimen available

This is the first time I have ever seen Amanita phalloides growing in the Sacramento Valley.
They have never been here before this. They may have been imported along with some new Red Oaks that were planted in the Open Space near me. There were 10 or so, although some of the other Amanitas were very flat, much smaller and not as colored, although still having a metallic sheen.
